Here We Are
In Summer 2015, I began research in to my first solo piece, Here We Are. This improvised performance explores the relationship between performer, audience and environment. Inspired by movement classes and tasks facilitated at the Dance and Nature project, as well as the surroundings of the island of Tenerife, I worked with the concept of directing energy through the body to create different dynamic states in performance.
The next phase of this work will be to delve deeper into the movement vocabulary and refine movement choices. This may lead to development of this solo, or to the creation of a new piece of dance. I am excited by the opportunity to collaborate with other artists in Hong Kong in order to explore both the physical and theatrical aspects of this work further.
