BIOGRAPHY

Born in Hong Kong, Constanze Lee began to have piano lessons since the age of five. Later, she studied piano performance in the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 1996 with Mr. Gabriel Kwok, where she was awarded her Diploma in Music and Bachelor degree in Piano with Honours. Constanze was awarded the diploma of Licentiate in Piano Performance (with Distinction) from the Trinity College of Music, as well as the Advanced Certificate of Piano Performance (with Distinction) from the Royal Schools of Music. During her studies, Constanze was awarded several prestigious scholarships, including the Bloomberg Scholarship and scholarships from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund which enabled her to pursue her music studies in the Netherlands from 2001 to 2004.

Constanze graduated from The Royal Conservatoire, The Hague, where she was awarded a Master’s degree of Music (with Distinction) as well as Postgraduate Certificate in fortepiano and historical performance practice. As an active soloist and chamber musician, Constanze has been invited to perform in diverse music festivals in Europe, like Oude Muziek Festival in Utrecht, Grachten

Festival Amsterdam, Festival Classique and Carinthian Music Festival in Austria. In 2001-2011, Constanze was the guest harpsichordist of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. She worked as guest lecturer and ensemble coach in historical performance practice

at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and Hong Kong Baptist University. Currently, Constanze Lee is the director of Bauhinia Musik Haus Hong Kong. She is also an adjunct lecturer of Hong Kong Baptist University and she teaches fortepiano in The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
